This is by far the fastest car I have ever owned and modified. It went door-to-door with a modified Dodge Viper from 55 to 110+mph, not losing an inch and in fact putting the Viper behind by half a car length. The best quarter mile was 11.9 on unleaded 93 octane with 28psi; no nitrous-oxide, no race fuel. This was a daily driven 11 second car that simply hauled.

Yet with all that power, it got to the point where I had a choice: modify the car even further, forcing me to exclusively trailer it to race events and trailer it back, or sell it and find a new project. I already knew so much about the motor and it’s limitations, about the chassis, and about the car as a whole that there were no real practical challenges left. I sold the car and moved on to a very fine example of German engineering.

Every time there’s a punk in the lane next to me who thinks he’s hot shit I think back to this car. While I don’t want to deal with the maintenance this car demanded, I would like the horsepower on tap again.
